In this book I have tried to discuss the student movement of West Bengal from 1960 to 1972. In doing so I have mainly focused on the different trends of communist student movements during the said period and at the said time. I have discussed the rise and growth of Chatra Parishad(CP) as an alternative force in the student movement of the sixties of the last century.The period 1960 to 1972 was very eventful in the socio-political and cultural history of West Bengal in general, and during this period, the student movement in the state had been passing through a critical juncture.-Author.
