Seribaan is a Kolkata based bilingual ( Bengali and English) publishing initiative, started it’s journey in 1997 with a monograph Ek Maharanir Mrityu by eminent historian Prof. Barun De.

Arun Ghosh, the founder librarian of the Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta was associated with the initiative from the very first day until his death in 2015.

During it’s journey the  initiative has been enriched by the contributions  of the renowned personalities from the various fields  of subject.

The main focus is on History,Politicial Science, Sociology and Statistics besides the exceptional literary works and memoirs.

Documentation of the Social, Cultural and Political Movements is also a prime target of this initiative. From this target a joint publication with the School of Cultural Text and Records, Jadavpur University has also been published.

Emphasis has been given on translation where as our’s publications have been translated in international languages like English, German and Indian languages like Malayalam etc.

The important  and monumental publications have been widely reviewed and appreciated by the leading  national and international news papers, journals and magazines.
